Upon checkout you will be taken to PayPal.com to complete your transaction in a 100% secure environment. PayPal accepts most major credit cards including Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover. You can also pay directly from your PayPal account if you have one. Back to top ^ Do I have to register with PayPal in order to make a payment on their site? No. This is not necessary. When you arrive at the PayPal page you will see an option to log in for member, or to sign-up for non-members. However, you will also see an option to make payment with a credit card, without being a member. Back to top ^ I'm having trouble using PayPal. Could it be because of the country I live in? It's possible. Please keep in mind that PayPal has different restrictions for different countries, so buyers in certain countries may have tighter restrictions and becoming a member and passing through PayPal security protection procedures can help with this. Please read the PayPal site for more information on this, or contact pandeiro.com directly to make payment using an alternative method. Back to top ^ Are there alternative ways to place an order? Yes. You can fax or phone your order to us to make payment with a credit card. Please send us an email request for this and we will sent you specific instruction on how to complete your order. If you don't have a credit card or prefer not to use it you can make payment using a bank Wire Transfer to a bank account in the United States. Again, please contact us via the Contact page for instructions. Back to top ^ How long will I have to wait for my order to arrive? This is not a simple answer, so we'll separate it into three parts: 1. The first question is whether or not we have the pandeiro in stock. If it's in stock it will be sent out within a week from when your order is placed. If it's not in stock the pandeiro will be ordered with the luthier and it will usually take between 2 - 4 weeks for pandeiro.com to receive it and prepare it to be shipped. 2. How long it takes for you to recieve your pandeiro after we have shipped it depends on the shipping rate you choose (Standard or Express). Depending on your country, Standard shipping usually takes 3 - 4 weeks and Express shipping is usually about 1 week. 3. The time estimates for shipping are for the time it takes to arrive in your country. However, local Customs and Postal Service can delay delivery (some countries are worse about this than others - for example, Italy!). 4. In general we ask for your patience when ordering with us. We do our best to deliver as fast as possible, but sometimes delays are unavoidable. In the end we think the wait will be worth it! Back to top ^ How will my pandeiro (or other items) be shipped? Via the Correios (Brazilian Postal Service). We don't use FedEx or UPS because it's just too expensive internationally. The Brazilian Correios is quite reliable. Occassionally our packages get delayed, but we haven't lost a pandeiro yet, and they've been sent around the world! Back to top ^ Can I track my order online? The Express shipping rate has online tracking, but it will only tell you that your package has left Brazil and then that it has arrived in your country. But don't expect FedEx or UPS detail. Standard shipping does not offer any online tracking. Back to top ^ What happens if my order is lost or damaged? 1. If your order seems to be lost you should notify pandeiro.com by email. We will then notify the Brazilian Correios and they will begin an inquiry with your country's Postal Service. If necessary we will send you a replacement of your order at no expense to you. 2. If your pandeiro arrives damaged please save the box and everything that came with the order. Register a complain with your local Postal Service and then notify pandeiro.com by email. You will then need to send the pandeiro back to us and we will replace it at no cost to you. We will also refund you for the return shipping cost. Back to top ^ What happens if I'm not happy with my purchase? Honestly, we haven't seen this happen yet - not even once! But if for some reason you're not happy with your pandeiro, just let us know right away. If you pay the shipping costs to return the pandeiro to us (in 100% perfect condition) we will either refund your money or send you another instrument. You will be responsible for any difference in price and for shipping costs on the new pandeiro. Books/DVDs/CDs are not returnable. Back to top ^ The skin on my pandeiro arrived really loose. Is this normal? Yes, it was tuned all the way down intentionally. You should actually do the same whe you're not playing it. It takes the tension off the frame as well as the skin itself. This is good for the longevity of both! Many luthiers and players recommend tuning and de-tuning using a diagonal, criss-crossing technique to make sure you're putting even tension on each side of the drum. Whichever way you decide to tune and de-tune you should be aware of the balance of tension on the rim. This is important! Back to top ^ I recently noticed a sudden price increase on some of the pandeiros. Why? Unfortunately pandeiro.com is at the mercy of the Dollar/Real exchange rate. So when the dollar drops in value against the Real and stays down for a long period of time there's no option but to raise prices. Also, the local prices the luthiers pay for materials can be quite volitile, which causes them to have to raise their prices as well. We do our best to not raise prices often, but at times it's unavoidable. Back to top ^ |
