Celsinho Silva Celsinho had the good fortune of having one of the most important panderistas in the history of Brazilian music as his father (Jorginho do Pandeiro). So, as Celsinho himself says, "I didn't have to go very far for lessons." Celsinho is one of the best examples of a "balanced" pandeiro player. His samba and choro roots are so strong because of his family history (another note, his uncle is Dino 7 cordas, who is essentially an icon of Brazilian 7 string guitar), but he didn't stop there and his playing shows it. Celsinho loves to experiment and break things up when he plays. I don't know if I've ever seen another pandeiro player carry a 6 or 7 piece band by himself with so much power and swing. He's exteremely inspiring to watch. Celsinho's most important work to note is being one of the founding members of Nó Em Pingo D'Agua and a member of Paulinho da Viola's group since 1980.
